ATHENS, November 19th-23rd, 2018
Greece was the first country to host the programme's teachers and students in November 2018. Our visitors toured the premises of our school and attended a series of seminars by our teachers. In particular, they participated in a seminar on STEM teaching, the presentation of experiments on gravitational waves and the absorption of water by plants, and modern ways of teaching the Euclid division. The seminar entitled "Escaping the boring classroom" was also interactive, with teachers actively participating in a specific questionnaire and submitting their own educational proposals. The Turkish team presented a seminar on the educational game "kenken", on the way it is played and its pedagogical benefits. At the same time, the students attended classes together with the students of our school. They took part in group collaborative activities, such as conducting heat experiments during the Physics lesson. Finally, students and teachers toured the center of Athens, visited the sacred rock of the Acropolis and danced the traditional "syrtaki" with the Greek students and teachers.
The next meeting has been confirmed and will take place in March 2019 in Romania.
